Contractors - your client (and their insurance company) want the house you are building be protected from intrusion, fire, and environmental events.
Hammond Security understands your challenges. Our goal is to make your job easier and to make sure your client is grateful that you decided to use Hammond.
Contact Hammond during the design phase. Your Security Consultant will meet with you or the client to select the best placement of devices with function and aesthetics in mind, to make sure insurance company and building codes will be satisfied and to make note of your scheduling requirements.
- Schedule the Rough-in Our low voltage wiring is best scheduled after the high voltage and plumbing rough-ins but before insulation.
- Order an extra set of plans: Hammond offers a $100.00 installation discount to Contractors who supply a set of building plans for the Security Consultant. Please also provide all updates/changes.
- Wire chases: In a large house it may be prudent to consider the future expansion of the security system and provide separate low voltage wire chase from the basement to the attic. The same is true for low voltage conduits between separate buildings.
- Avoid duplication of services: Hammond’s low voltage smoke detectors can be wired to meet NFPA 72 building requirements which will prevent the need for “two sets” smoke sensors when a monitored fire system is requested by the client.
- Temporary Fire Systems for high value projects: Many Insurance companies and Underwriters require monitored fire systems for high value homes to be in place during construction. Hammond has packages which make it possible to achieve this with minimal disruption to the construction process.
