Hammond PhoneIndependent Communication

Intruders know that cutting the phone line means NO communication and NO police response. But Hammond's PhoneIndependent® Communication provides emergency transmission that cannot be disabled by a storm, falling tree, or intruder.

What makes PhoneIndependent® Communication so reliable?

It starts with Hammond's robust two-way radio network developed over the past twenty five years.  Since there are no wires to cut, cell towers or third party providers involved, PhoneIndependent® Communication is the most reliable way to send emergency alarm signals.

What is PhoneIndependent® Communication?

When it has a signal to send, your system will automatically select the best route using our web of interconnected radio sites with overlapping coverage of the Mid-Hudson Valley. Unlike backup systems that use cellular communications or nationwide network services, Hammond's PhoneIndependent® Communication is not dependent on third parties for lease or maintenance. With phone-dependent communication, a tree or an intruder can disable phone communication - thereby disabling your security. With PhoneIndependent® Communication, you can be sure that Hammond will receive your emergency signal every time, and provide you with a quick response for true security

What happens at Hammond when an intruder cuts my phone line?

When your phone line is cut, Hammond instantaneously receives a "loss of dial tone" signal by radio, which immediately puts your account on high alert. When this signal is followed by an intrusion signal sent by PhoneIndependent® Communication, we immediately dispatch the police authorities to a confirmed emergency. "We’ve received a phone line cut followed by an intrusion signal. The intruder may still be there, thinking he’s disabled the system.” As you would expect, the police treat your emergency with the highest priority.
