Central Station Operators
Our Underwriters Laboratories® central station operators monitor the Hammond systems which protect over 5,000 homes and businesses, tens of thousands of lives, and millions of dollars of property. Their responsibilites include dispatching appropriate emergency personnel and conducting extensive follow-up with regard to alarms and signals. In addition, central station operators handle service requests, provide technical suport to subscribers, direct incoming calls, and work closely with members of the sales and installation departments. Successful central station operators are detail oriented, close listeners, and proficient multi-taskers. Experience in customer service is helpful; "people sense" and good keyboarding skills are essential. Our central station is on duty three shifts a day every day of the year, including holidays. Timeliness and reliability are mandatory. Applicants should expect a background check and/or drug test.
Service and Installation Technicians
Technicians at Hammond Security install a wide range of fire, intrusion and access/surveillance systems. Service technicians are responsible for the annual inspections and servicing of all systems. A trainee in the installation or service department will have an opportunity to build new skills from existing ones in an exciting and fast-moving field. Experience in any of the construction trades is preferred. Military background is an asset. A neat appearance, clean driving record, and record of reliability are mandatory. Sales Consultants
Hammond's sales consultants are high energy, self-motivated people. Both residential and commercial salespeople develop skills in consultive selling - helping the home or business owner to design the security system that meets his or her needs, preferences, and budget. Experience in sales, teaching, or customer service are helpful. Target skills include being a good listener, problem solver, and "people person," with the ability to provide excellent followup and paperwork.
